What is the House Bill 2745?

H.B. 2745 provides guidelines for the implementation of safety standards concerning the placement and operation of automated teller machines in Texas.

What does this bill require?

In summary:

1.  Two candle foot power within 50 feet from all unobstructed directions from the face of the machine.  If the machine is positioned within 10 feet of a building corner and generally within reach of the adjacent side, you may have a minimum of two candle foot power along the first unobstructed 40 feet of the adjacent side.

2.  Two candle foot power in the parking area within 60 feet of the unmanned teller machine.

3.  Ten candle foot power within 5 feet of the unit.

How to become compliant?

Carl Electric Co., Inc. can help you!

1.  We can provide you with documentation to assist you with the lighting levels for the user’s protection.

2.   We will provide a sketch with the location of the unmanned teller units and all lighting on the property with actual foot candle readings taken after dark.

4.  Upon completion of lighting survey, we will provide you with recommendations for any necessary corrections.

5.  Additional services can be performed to maintain the exterior lighting, year round, with monthly reports indicating outages of light fixtures and signage.
